Backing up Kindle 1 or Kindle one or Kindle I
This week I had to return my Kindle 1 to my mother. She had loaned me her Kindle for the past couple of months. I really loved it. I realized that I had many books and PDF documents on the ereader. Luckily the Kindle 1 has a way for me to back up my content. It has an SD Card slot so I could take all my ebooks and transfer them on to the little SD Card. SD Cards are cheap, in fact my card came with a camera I bought a couple years ago and do not use. I transferred all of my ebooks to a small capacity 256 MB card. That card could hold alot of books and I am pretty sure they can be bought new for a few dollars now.
When my mother decides I can have the Kindle back, I just pop the SD card in the Kindle and I have all my ebooks again.
So, I love my Kindle 1 and prefer it over the Kindle 2 that does not have a card slot for backup. There are other ways that Amazon lets you back up a Kindle but I prefer the ease, speed and convenience of my own removable SD Card. I am thinking of setting up something on this site to allow people to buy Kindle 1. The prices should be good and much cheaper than the latest Kindle.
